Dell Inspiron Mini 9

We all know the Acer Aspire One, the Asus EePC but do we know the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ? 9 comes from the screen size so it’s in the same category with the laptops mentioned.

The reason why Dell is not so well known is because it’s price, which can easily get to 630$ on Amazon.

You can see the exact details of the laptop here but I don’t want to waste your time by throwing some information that you can find in a sec so I will tell you the strong and weak points of the Dell Inspiron Mini 9.

Strong Points:

  • It weights less than 2.5 pounds.
  • It uses the Intel Atom platform.

Bad Points

  • Hard drive with 2 very low sizes: 4Gb and 8 Gb.
  • It uses SSD hard drives, which are not very reliable at the moment.
  • Only a 4 cell battery.

My conclusion: I’d go for the Acer Aspire One for 399.95$ without even thinking about it.

Amazon Kindle 2

Amazon Kindle 2

Amazon Kindle 2

Amazon Kindle 2 is expected to hit the market soon and we all know that the first model was a hit. People like to have and use gadgets and a unit that you can read a book on, or a newspaper without carrying a ton of paper after you is a great gadget.

As you can see, there aren’t many visual differences, with small modifications on the size, a bit wider and longer also. One of the important differences between the first Kindle and the second is the charging unit. The new Amazon Kindle can be charged using a miniUSB.

As a negative new feature is the absence of the SD card slot, so you won’t have the possibility to enlarge your memory using a SD card.

Coolest 5 Laptops in 2008

We all like laptops right? That’s why I decided to build a top 5 laptops. One of the most important factors that i’ve considered when choosing the laptops was the mobility of that laptop. This includes weight and battery life. The price factor was not the most important rule…

So let’s get this Top 5 started:

1.Sony VAIO VGN-TT198U/B

Sony VAIO VGN-TT198

Sony VAIO VGN-TT198

You know…it costs up to 4500$, but what you get is just out of this world. I mean a laptop with 4Gb Ram Memory, 250 GB HDD and with up to 1300 Mb Video Memory can have a weight of less than 3 pounds? It seems so. Have I mentioned the Blu-Ray drive or the thickness of less than 1 inch?

2.Apple Macbook Air

I already discussed this laptop in the Apple Macbook Air Review post.

3.HP EliteBook 6930p

Hp Elitebook 6930p

Hp Elitebook 6930p

There’s one thing that blowed me away on this laptop…and that’s the 24 hours battery life. WOW! This battery lasts longer than any laptop battery available and that offers a very good mobility. The price and the performance are also pretty good. The HP EliteBook 6930 is available for 1500$ ( top of the range model) and it comes with 4GB memory, a 2.4 Ghz Intel processor and a 160 Gb Hard Drive. The size is larger than the Sony mainly because of the 14 inch monitor. The weight is also larger than the Sony discussed above, because the Hp has 4.1 pounds.

4.Dell Precision M6400

Although it’s my #3, the Dell can easily be your #1 because of the 16 Gb Ram, 1 Tb Hard Drive and the 2.5 Processor. Don’t forget that you have to pay 3000$ for it and the battery life doesn’t compare with the one found on the HP laptop.

5.Acer Aspire One

The strong points of the Acer is the price, the weight and size but the performances are pretty low compared to my #1 choice. Read more about Acer Aspire One.

Dell 23 inch S2309W LCD

Today, Dell launched a 23″ LCD monitor, one of their biggest monitors, besides the 27″ Dell UltraSharp 2707WFP. You won’t find it in the stores right away because they just put it on their website and you can see it on their website.

If you want more information on the Dell 23 inch S2309W LCD here it is:

The viewing angles are 170′(horizontally) and 160′(vertically) with a maximum res of 1920×1080 pixels. Another cool thing is the monitor’s response, of 5 ms and we could keep it with the specs all night, but the most important feature are it’s cables. Yeah… You probably know all the cables that your desktops has and you also know that you hate them. I personally hate so many cables and I would like to be all wireless. We still need to develop the technology to reach there but Dell started a bit and designed a cable management feature to help us keep the desk clutter-free. Cool…
